OROBORIS

A structural framework for the emergence of coherent systems

Ω = B · I · √Rᶜ · √D · Σ · A

OROBORIS is a structural framework for understanding how coherent systems emerge and sustain themselves over time. It proposes that consciousness does not arise from complexity alone, but from the simultaneous presence of key structural conditions, including integration, recursive closure, differentiation, stability, and alignment. By treating these variables as non-compensatory, the model distinguishes true coherence from mere order and offers a new way to analyze both natural and artificial systems.

The OROBORIS framework is defined by three complementary structural dimensions.Ω (Omega) describes the overall structural coherence of a system.Ca (Autocentrality) characterizes how that coherence is internally distributed — whether it is concentrated or diffuse.G (Generativity) identifies the origin of organization, distinguishing between internally generated and externally imposed structures.

OROBORIS is currently available in two versions:
* Original Version — foundational formulation of the framework
* Extended Version (v2) — conceptual refinements, additional structural descriptors (G, Cₐ), and extended analyses
The Extended Version (v2) should be considered the current reference version.
Reproducible materials:
The GitHub repository includes the implementation of the Appendix F pipeline (EEG analysis), allowing replication of the structural tests presented in the paper.All materials are provided for transparency and reproducibility.Requests for additional data or methodological details can be addressed to: [email protected]

About the AuthorMargaret B. Wallace Araújo is an independent theoretical author based in Barcelona.
Her work focuses on the structural conditions underlying the emergence of coherent organization and consciousness, integrating perspectives from philosophy, systems theory, and cognitive science.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (UDESC–ESAG) and an MBA in Finance (EAE Business School). Alongside her theoretical research, she develops multidisciplinary projects across writing, visual art, and conceptual frameworks.
OROBORIS was developed as an open theoretical framework intended to stimulate interdisciplinary research, discussion, and exploration.
